Reviewed: Reaped from Faerie by WB McKay

Reaped from Faerie (Stolen Magic, #2)
by W.B. McKay
5 out of 5 Stars
*I was given an ARC for an Honest Opinion*

I was so eager to jump into Sophie's world again. To see Owen being a pain in the rump of Dragon was just great. In Reaped from Faerie we get to meet some new characters and ones we have been wondering about. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor a couple times, and I laughed out loud at others. Faith & Robert write the most addicting words and worlds, I'm still healing from a book hangover.

If you Read Bound by Faerie, then you just have to read Reaped from Faerie!!

Series: A Grey Wolves Novella
Author: Quinn Loftis

Genre: Paranormal Romance

The events chronicled herein occur after the destruction of Reyaz the Warlock, which was recounted in Sacrifice of Love. A few months of peace were enjoyed by the various supernatural races before an increase in attacks by vampires in the human realm, which was recounted in Den of Sorrows, forces the elves, fae and werewolves to go to battle once again.

Duty, sacrifice, service, and discipline. These were the characteristics that described Cyn, the warrior fae. Though love was out of her reach, she thought this life was all she needed. She had never been more wrong. A chance meeting with the Prince of the Elves turns her carefully structured world upside down.

Thalion is loyal to his people above all else. As the prince of the Elves, it is his duty to protect them. His loyalty has never been in question. But then, he's never met anyone like Cyn before.

The destiny of both their races may hinge on whether an elf and a fae can overcome their differences and face an uncertain future together.

NEW RELEASE: Jack the Ripper (Jane the Ripper) Killer Shorts: Murderers Among Us by Stacy Green

Jack the Ripper (Jane the Ripper): Killer Shorts: Murderers Among Us

Genre:Biographies & Memoirs/True Crime/Serial Killers

Amazon | iBooks | Kobo | Nook

What if Jack the Ripper was a woman?

During Jack the Ripper’s siege on Whitechapel, London in the summer of 1888, Inspector Fredderick Abberline wondered whether the killer might be a woman. He later dismissed the idea, but history has refused to let the theory die.

Could the most heinous killer of the time be a midwife, angered by client betrayal, seeking her revenge on prostitutes for being imprisoned as an abortionist? Or a vengeful wife, shamed by her husband’s infidelity, exacting an evil plan culminating in the brutal slaying of her husband’s pregnant mistress?

And more recently, inconclusive DNA results from one of the famous Ripper letters points to the possibility of the Ripper being female.

This gripping true crime short examines one of history’s most elusive criminals and dissects the question, “Could Jack really have been a Jane?”

Reviewed: The Immortality Cure by Tori Centanni

The Immortality Cure: An Urban Fantasy Novel

Henri Dunn Book 1

*I was given an ARC for my Honest Opinion*
I didn't know what to expect when I first pick up The Immortality Cure. This could be bad, I thought. It's about a Cure for Vampirism. Do we really want that? With all about 5 seconds of pondering it, I jump in cause umm Vampires.

Tori is an excellent story teller, her writing it a breath of fresh air in the world of paranormal. I love going in blind with a new book and new to me author. I wasn't disappointed.
There were a couple dry spots in the book, though the overall experience of stepping into Henri Dunn's world was an enjoyable adventure. The ending had me laughing my tush off I can't wait to see what happens next.

Catie Rhodes is the author of the Peri Jean Mace Paranormal Mysteries. Her short stories have appeared in Tales from the MistAllegories of the Tarot, and Let’s Scare Cancer to Death.

Catie was born and raised behind the pine curtain in East Texas. Her favorite memories of childhood are sitting around listening to her family spin yarns.

Some of the tales were spooky. Some had grim endings. Some were side-splittingly funny. The stories all had one thing in common: each had an element of the mysterious or the unexplained.

Those weird stories molded Catie into a purveyor of her own brand of lies and legends. One day, she found the courage to start writing down her stories. It changed her life forever.

Catie Rhodes lives steps from the Sam Houston National Forest with her long-suffering husband and her armpit terrorist of a little dog.

When she’s not writing, Catie likes to cook horribly fattening foods and crochet or knit stuff nobody wants as a gift. She also reads a whole helluva lot.

People called him a hero for defending his country, but he felt more like a coward. A hero wouldn’t have shrapnel scars on their back, proving they were running away from
the fight instead of facing it.

He wanted her on his arm, to make him look good, just as a woman should. Savannah wanted to be heard, her opinion to matter. She wanted to be valued. The first strike of his hand across her face should have been evidence enough that her life wasn’t turning out as she had hoped. Getting smacked around became the norm. Fearing him became her life.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Born in Massachusetts in 1986, Nathan Squiers (The Literary Dark Emperor) grew up in Andover, where his affinity for story-telling flourished due to a love of books and movies as well as an overactive imagination. At the age of 13, Nathan and his mother moved to Upstate New York to be closer to their family.

After surviving public school, where he spent most of his days locked away in the AV room watching old 80s movies on Laserdisc and planning out his next video project, Nathan began a shaky college career. A love of weaving tales and telling stories was motivation enough to pursue an education in English, and, as luck would have it, a series of phenomenal professors were available to get him pointed in the right direction. It was in his first years of college that Nathan began to actively pursue a writing career, starting his first literary journey with a piece that would later become "Noir", the first book of the Crimson Shadow series.

Like any good story, a chaotic turn of events brought Nathan from the very brink of insanity and loneliness to the warm, comforting embrace of Megan, his best friend, lover, kindred spirit, and--more often than not--personal handler. It was with Megan at his side that Nathan was able to continue his writing (sometimes solely motivated by the young lady's threats of dismemberment if he tried to stop). With Megan's help, Nathan was able to see Death Metal, his fourth manuscript, through the publication process.

Nearly ten years later, The Literary Dark Emperor (now a multi-award winning author and co-owner/manager of Tiger Dynasty Publishing) continues to invent stories and put them into a literary sequence that he hopes will be somehow decipherable by other readers. As a lover of all things creative, he works in both novels, novellas, short stories, as well as comic book scripts (just don't ask him to draw something if you don't like stick figures and poorly-executed shapes).

If he's not submerged in the realm of fiction or burning out his retinas with horror movie marathons, Nathan is planning/getting a new piercing/tattoo or enjoying life with his lovely wife and fellow author, Megan J. Parker.

Megan J. Parker lives in upstate New York in a small town that no one can spell or pronounce. She is normally found either hanging in her home with her fiancรฉe, Nathan, and two evil cats that believe they are the kings of the house, or on campus at the local college sitting in the art rooms with her face plastered to the Mac-lab computers.

On her down time, she likes reading and designing new logos and videos. Her passion for telling stories is portrayed in all her work and when there's a story to tell, you can be sure she'll tell it to its full extent. She aspires to own her own design company and work in a studio where she can edit and write to her heart's content.
