Something Great

*This is a New Adult romance novel recommended for ages 18+ due to sexual content and mature subject matter.*
She didn't know what she was missing...until he found her.
Maxwell Knight was dangerously good-looking, seductively charming, and definitely trouble. He was everything Jeanella Mefferd did NOT need now.
Fresh out of college, life was predictable and comfortable for Jeanella. She had the strength of her friends, the security of her job, and she was dating a reliable man; it was all smooth sailing. That was until one night, when she met someone who made her feel things she'd never felt before--dangerous, heart pounding,
breathless heat. Never imagining she would see him again, Jeanella has no idea what to do when fate steps in and thrusts Maxwell Knight into her life, just as things were beginning to change around her. When she lands her dream job and travels to New York for Fashion Week, can she focus on her career instead of on Maxwell?
Will she ignore all the danger signs and jump straight into his arms; or would she
miss out on the chance of finding something great?

First World (A Walker Saga Book 1)
by
Jaymin Eve

A young adult paranormal romance series.
An epic journey.
If the Seventine are released, will anyone survive?
Abigail Swish might not love her life, living in gang-ridden New York in 2035 and training to fight and survive with Compound 23. But she is grateful for a few things, especially her no-filter-between-brain-and-mouth best friend Lucy and her escape each night into a dream world far different from her own.
In fact, sometimes she lives for the fleeting moments she spends at night with the man who fuels every romantic fantasy she’s ever had. But each morning reality returns. She could just cry. But she won’t. Tears don’t change a damn thing.
Then without any warning, a month before her eighteenth birthday, everything does change. A guardian finds her. He explains, in a strangely familiar accent, that she was stashed on Earth for safekeeping and has been lost to her family ever since. And it is time to return home. To First World; a land of unimagined beauty.
Abigail and Lucy find themselves thrust from New York and into another world. Day one: traversing through an unforgiving wilderness. Yeah, because that sort of thing just happens every day. Luckily an unexpected savior arrives; the man from her dream-world. Brace is six-and-a-half feet of gorgeous perfectness, wrapped in an arrogance like no other. Unable to trust his assistance, and unsure which of her instincts to follow - kiss him or punch him in the mouth - Abigail eventually accepts his help to find her family.
And what a family. Enter Josian, her father, larger than life and apparently not even human. He is Walker, a planet-less race revered as gods, causing mischief and mayhem through-out this star-system. Unfortunately, there is no time for a cozy reunion, since her return to First World is the unknown catalyst, setting forth a chain of events which could spell disaster for all worlds.

Crazi Momma's Review

So those who have been following I first came across Jaymin Eve just a short month ago. Gasp!
I know Right!

I was in love with her writing and the way she told her stories. So I decided to see if that would transpire in other series of hers. Thank the gods of Ink and Paper it does. I could kiss her Muse!

Jaymin Eve kept me completely hook from page one, of First World. I am going to be honest that Jaymin caught me off guard with some characters. While others, I figured out as much. There is nothing wrong with that. I've read to many books to be completely caught off guard.

I knew before cracking this one open it was part of a series, and  Earth: A Walker Saga Book 7  had just released.

Fair warning the ending is totally a cliffhanger, I mean come on! I actually yelled that, my dogs look at me in confusion.

I highly recommend this book to those who love series, young adult novels, and sci fi.

About the Author

Jaymin Eve has a passion for reading, writing and arithmetic ... okay maybe not the last one but definitely the first two. She loves surrounding herself with the best things in life: her two girls, a good book and chocolate.

Living on the beautiful Gold Coast, in Australia, the family loves spending lots of time on the beach. And travelling as frequently as possible.

When Jaymin isn't trying to wrangle two daughters, a puppy and her husband, you will find her hiding in a corner trying desperately to write her stories (without little fingers pressing random keys). She asks forgiveness if you notice the occasional sskkkkssjs appearing in her book, her children are proud of their contribution.

New Release - Evermore by Brenda Pandos Mer Tales, Book Four - Reviewed

The underwater world of Natatoria is enjoying a long awaited period of peace -- and with it, the merpeople’s very first chance to visit human civilization. Ash and Fin’s wedding marks the perfect opportunity for the mers to celebrate their newfound freedom. But when they return home to Tahoe to prepare, Ash’s absence from the human world has raised more than a few questions about where she’s been. When blaming fingers point to Ash and Fin as the culprits who burned down Fin’s home, even his mindjacking mojo hasn’t stopped the authorities from issuing the happy couple an early wedding gift—a matching pair of arrest warrants.

Instead of bringing their families together, Ash and Fin’s upcoming wedding drives a wedge between the very cultures they’re trying to bridge. And when their reality takes an unexpected twist, Ash realizes her dual existence comes with a hefty price. Neither her human nor her mer family understand the sacrifices they’re asking of her, and as much as she wants to please both her mer and human mothers, she knows she’s one misstep away from breaking two maternal hearts.
But while everyone is distracted in preparations for the big day, there are those who are intent on elevating their own bloodline, even to the point they’d risk exposing the mer secret. Ash and Fin must scramble to save their families, their societies . . . and their love. The only thing they know for sure is that when it comes to Natatorians, old habits die hard.

And a royal should never get too comfortable.

My heart pounded with thoughts of why they’d come. Did something happen to Dad? Gran? My mother? Once I entered the house, the taller of the two cops stopped talking.
“Ash?” My mother blinked at me, eyes red and swollen. Then she jumped up and attacked me with a hug.
My arms circled around her, squeezing tight. I didn’t understand why the happy reunion since I’d only been gone for a few weeks. Tears wet my cheeks anyway. I’d wanted this, for her to miss me. Gran hugged me next, followed amazingly by my sister, Lucy. Then they all stared at me like my head might pop.
“What’s going on? Why are they here?” I gestured to the cops.
Mom eyed me up and down “What are you wearing, and why are you all wet?”
I looked down at the puddle under my feet from my pink beaded gown, realizing my mistake. Luckily, Fin walked in behind me. He quickly sang, using his mer mojo to get them to ignore my attire.
“I’m sorry to interrupt the reunion,” the shorter cop turned to me, “but you’re under arrest, Ashlyn, for arson.”
“Arrest?” I leaped backward.
Mom stood between us. “I told you. She didn’t do this. I don’t care what evidence you have!”
“Ma’am, please…”
Fin started to sing, “Ash is innocent, and it’s time for you both to leave.”
The cops’ eyes glazed over.
“Sorry for the confusion.” The taller of the two looked at the shorter one, then nodded and they left. “We’ll be going.”
I swallowed hard, my heart thundering.
Then my mother’s gaze turned cold. “Where have you been?”
I flicked a glance at Fin. She’d been mojoed. How could she have forgotten? “I was on a mission trip in Africa.”
She chuckled. “Really? And where are your plane tickets? Your visa? Your passport?”
Fin opened his mouth to sing, but I grabbed onto his hand to stop him.
“No. Let me handle this.” They deserved answers, not some fishy mind-jacking makeover. I turned to my mother. “You’re right. I wasn’t in Africa.”
Mom’s jaw tightened. “Then where were you?”
“I was with Fin and his family.”
“Doing what?”
I gritted my teeth. What could I say that didn’t sound totally lame? “Just traveling.”
“Traveling?” Mom barked out a laugh. “Are you kidding me? Oooh! Jack and Maggie are going to get an earful!”
“Karen,” Gran said. “I’m sure there’s a logical explanation.”
“Let me handle this, Mother!” Mom snapped.
“Please,” Fin whispered to me.
I held up my hand for him to wait, but I had no excuse to give her that wasn’t a lie. How was that any better than just singing them a story? “Mom, just trust me—”
“Trust you? You disappear without a word, and I’m just supposed to look the other way?” She stretched the small space between us and slapped me. “This is unforgivable, and your life will be over as you know it, Ashlyn Francis Lanski. You can leave now, Fin.”
“Karen!” Gran scolded. “That’s uncalled for.”
I turned away, gasping while I held onto the stinging flesh. My mother and I may have had a strained relationship, but she’d never hit me before.
Gran begged for Mom to calm down, while Lucy let out a rude cackle. Fin sang for everyone to sit and be quiet. Tears trickled down over my hot face, and my stomach turned over, making me want to vomit. I knew coming home wouldn't be blissful, but this? The wedding most definitely wasn’t happening now.
Fin walked over to me. “Let’s just smooth this over and find out what’s happened.”
I wanted to, but with the cops ready to arrest me, I knew whatever had happened was irreparable.

*I was given an ARC for an Honest Review*
**I Totally bought the book also**

Evermore was everything I could hope it would be! I laugh, I cried, and I raged. Brenda Pandos knows the right amount of mixture to give her readers. I hope to see more in the Mer Tales Series.
Have in the past raved about Brenda Pandos writing style, I am one happy readers that she has lost her touch with her words and draws you in right away.
The Story is everything I could ever wanted for Ash and Fin. It had the characters from the last 3 that we all wanted to see. Even if it was brief. I love How Brenda pick it up like no time had past since the last was out.
Dear Brenda, I will need more Mer Tales please.
I give this 5 fins up!

Check out what I had to say about the last Three Books in the Mer Tales Series Here.

Author Brenda Pandos lives in California with her husband, two energetic boys, eight chickens and a grumpy orange cat. A Review Of AS I AM by Annalisa Grant

“You’re not invisible. You’re invaluable.”
When Kinley Carmichael looks in the mirror, she doesn’t see her blonde-haired, blue-eyed, size 4 twin sister. She sees her dark-haired, brown-eyed, size 12 self.
Kinley and her twin sister Addison are excited to start their second summer as counselors at The Camp at Lake Hollis. All Kinley wants is to earn enough money to meet up with her mother so they travel the world as professional photographers. All Addison wants is to work on her tan, seduce a boy, and build her fashion budget. And while Kinley and Addison couldn’t be more opposite, nothing has ever stopped them from being the best of friends.
It’s an especially great summer for Kinley as the official camp photographer with Notre Dame Quarterback Cal Harper showing interest in her. But when artist Miller Conrad arrives and rejects Addison’s advances, showing more interest in Kinley, true colors will shine and the sisters’ bond will be tested.
As Kinley and Miller’s connection deepens, Kinley feels like she can truly be herself without the internal scrutiny she’s developed in the shadow of her sister. But when Kinley inadvertently uncovers a terrible secret, Miller is left facing the demons of his own reasons for coming to Lake Hollis.

What was supposed to be the greatest summer of Kinley’s life turns out to be more life-changing than she ever imagined.

*I received this Book from Netgalley Via Red Coat PR For an honest Review*

Annalisa Grant sets this world up we are all too familiar with. Being uncomfortable within our skins.
Young Love, First love, sister love, and self-love. Where do we draw a line, where do we jump?

I can't personally say I totally relate to this story. For one reason, I never been to a summer camp. With the "Chatter" that Kinley has been dealing with, I can relate to. I was lucky enough to  find a person who has helped silence that "chatter".

I Love how Annalisa Grant  portrayed that a sisterly bond, how it can be tested, and a realistic outcome to the "test".

I was very pleased with the flow of this book, and the writing.  I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys young adult, contemporary romance  and coming of age stories.

Author Bio

AnnaLisa is the youngest of four children and the only daughter, born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After graduating high school, she moved to Charlotte, NC with her parents. This turned out to be a blessing since it was just a few short years later that she met her husband in the Film Actor’s Studio of Charlotte. As she studied acting at the Studio, AnnaLisa was in several films and made-for-TV movies, as well as performed in local theater in both dramatic and musical roles. At one time, it was AnnaLisa’s dream to be a professional singer.

AnnaLisa completed her undergraduate degree in Human Services at Wingate University and her Master’s degree in Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. During her thirteen years in the Human Services field, AnnaLisa worked with children in group homes and foster care, and spent two years in private practice counseling individuals, families, and couples.

When her father was in a near fatal car accident in 2010, AnnaLisa’s best coping skill turned out to be writing. Five months after the accident, when all the what ifs would not go away, AnnaLisa started writing Layla Weston’s story in The Lake. She had no idea what she was going to do with the story. In fact, she wrote sixty-four pages before she told her husband what she was doing. By then it was clear that Layla had a long story to tell and there were multiple books on the horizon.

In 2013, after all three YA novels in The Lake Trilogy were written and she had let them sit long enough, AnnaLisa took matters into her own hands and self-published the titles within just a few months of each other. Received well by readers young and not-so-young alike, The Lake Trilogy has enjoyed breakout success, selling close to half-million copies the first year.

AnnaLisa’s publicist is Rick Miles of Red Coat PR, and she is represented by Italia Gandolfo of GH Literary. AnnaLisa has been married to her super awesome husband Donavan since 2001 and lives in Matthews, NC with their two ridiculously beautiful children.

New Release - Supernatural Chronicles: The Vampires by Brenda Pandos (Reviewed)

After narrowly escaping annihilation, eighteen-year-old Julia Parker and her vampire friends are on the hunt for their next big thrill.

When a blood-penned riddle triggers Julia's thirst, the vamps fear they're being lured into a trap. And when the note's 'ink' drives Julia into a rage/frenzy, her friends are left with no choice but to destroy it.

Though Julia returns to her normal self, the threat isn’t over. The letter warns that a sacrifice is required in order for them to keep their immortality. As each minute passes, the group starts becoming weaker. Unsure how to satisfy the letter’s author, they go to New Orleans anyway, but this is no ordinary trip. Evil lurks in the shadows, feeding off Julia's bloodlust and preparing to stake her and her friends at the first opportunity. And with the moon coming into position, they’re running out of time. If outside forces don't bring the coven down, Julia herself may be their undoing. Because fulfilling the riddle will cost Julia one of two things: a treasure she holds dear or her own immortal life.

Failure is not an option.

Beneath the brow of Bourbon and French architecture, the iris of New Orleans swirls with flecks of worlds and beings unknown to mankind. Come with us as we chronicle their journey—each supernatural race must hunt for an offering in hopes of saving their own. Skinwalkers, Wolves, Vampires, Dragons, Succubi, Witches, Necromancers, Cupids, and Asgardians are all in danger of losing control as an uprising darkness threatens to rip the veil that protects them all from the great beyond.

Ten original novellas, following each supernatural race as they fight an elusive enemy, are written by New Adult authors Lila Felix, Kristie Cook, Brenda Pandos, Delphina Henley, Julia Crane, Jamie Magee, Morgan Wylie, Kallie Ross, S.T. Bende, and Rebecca Ethington. Come join them for the hunt and discover hidden treasures inside

*I was given an Arc for an Honest Review. *

Once again I am blown away by the talent of Brenda Pandos.

It was a blast to have another adventure with Parker & Nicholas.
For those who don’t know the back story of those two, Brenda Pandos did a nice quick recap to fill in anything one might of missed.  It’s been AWHILE since I have read anything with these two, and I fell right back into the grove of them. Which made me a happy little reader.

This is the Perfect length to go with a cup of coffee or a nice bubble bath. SO if you Looking for a quick action pack read, I highly suggest grabbing a copy of Supernatural Chronicles: The Vampires.
If I could give this book a higher rating, then 5 stars I would in a heartbeat!

Author's Bio

Mommy warrior, comma-kazi, wife, computer whisperer, Pinterest addict, chocolate enthusiast, vampire and zombie slayer, merman magnet, and lover of all things pure and right. Well... maybe after a cup of coffee or two.

Author Brenda Pandos lives in California and is surrounded by the loves of her life—her husband, her incredible boys, a grumpy cat, eight chickens and her characters. Before becoming a full-time author, she worked as an IT administrator. After her son’s ASD diagnosis, everything changed. Being pregnant and embarking on a 35 hour a week in-home therapy schedule was grueling to say the least. She craved a meaningful escape.

Never having aspired to write before, she wrote her own vampire tale for kicks. Four months later, The Emerald Talisman was born. Unsure who'd want to buy her novel, she entered her fledgling book in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award and placed as a Quarter-finalist. That gave her the courage to go Indie and from there, she traversed into a life she’d never imagined and loves to this day. And since a small group of fans grew into a larger group of fans, all cheering her onto books two, three, four, five... and so on, she hasn't looked back.
